WHAT IS DERBY WARGAMES SOCIETY? Derby Wargames Society is a group of people that have got together to share their love of all things war-gaming. We have a membership of around 30 people at the time of typing. WHERE DO YOU MEET? We meet every MONDAY night at the Allenton British legion, on Chellaston Rd in Allenton, Derby. WHEN DO YOU MEET? The Club night starts at around 7.00pm, and goes on until they turf us out, that's never happened as the old boys in the legion are still playing dominos long after we leave. WHAT FACILITIES DOES THE CLUB HAVE? As you can imagine with us being based at a British legion, we have a very good bar. Other than that we have onsite parking and disabled access, all the toilet facilities you would expect from a social club. We have a large gaming room which can hold about 30 6' x 4' tables. Food is avaliable on club night from the bar, or there is a chip shop 2 mins walk away. WHAT GAMES ARE PLAYED? This is the best thing about our club, you can play what ever you like. We have a good following for all of the Games Workshop games, (Warhammer Fantasy, Ancients and 40K being most popular) we also have a number of players that play DBM regularly. DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER? Strictly speaking, yes, you do have to be a member. Luckily for you that involves nothing more sinister than giving us your name and address and getting yourself a membership card. Weekly subs are £2 or £1 for concessions.
